On Monday, December 3, 2018, the Washington Foreign Law Society was honored to visit the Hungarian Embassy for a Pre-Holiday Wine and Cheese Party with Ambassador Laszlo Szabo.
He shared his views of Hungary’s role in building a 21st century Europe, introduced a new business development campus at the embassy, and led attendees in a tasting of Hungarian wines accompanied by a virtual tour of Hungary using Prezi, a presentation software tool he noted was founded and is headquartered in Budapest.
About Ambassador Szabo:
Ambassador Szabo, a medical doctor by education and training, was appointed Ambassador of Hungary to the United States in July 2017. Prior to his arrival in the United States, Ambassador Szabo served as Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade in Hungary from 2014 to 2017. His work at the Foreign Ministry followed a long and distinguished career in the pharmaceutical industry that included association with Eli Lilly, a Fortune 500 company based in Indianapolis, where he spent almost seventeen years and became one of the VPs of the company, and TEVA Hungary where he was Chief Executive Officer between 2010 and 2014.
