First Look! Compliance Update on the Newly-Effective EU General Data Protection Regulation

As of April 25, just one month before the EU’s General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) goes into effect, more than half of the companies surveyed by KPMG Global Legal Services reported they were not in compliance and less than 10% felt confident employees at their organization were fully aware of the new requirements imposed by the law.

The Washington Foreign Law Society invites you to a timely discussion on the GDPR, which introduces new obligations for those who collect or use the personal information of people located in the EU, and will have a broad reach to compel compliance from many firms not located in the EU.

This panel discussion, Q&A session, and informal networking reception will feature the following experts on privacy, cybersecurity, and data protection:

Mark Rasch, Principal at Rasch Technology and Cyberlaw and a writer at SecurityBoulevard.com and SecurityCurrent.com

Kaylee Cox, Associate Attorney on the Cybersecurity and Privacy Team at Holland & Knight LLP

The event will be on Tuesday, June 5, 2018, at 5:30 p.m. at the offices of Holland & Knight LLP (800 17th St. NW, Suite 1100, Washington, DC 20006), with an informal networking reception after the panel.
