On May 26th, 2015, WFLS and the Newseum hosted a discussion with reporters from the International Consortium of Investigative Journalists and legal experts examining the Luxembourg and Swiss leaks. The respective leaks have cast light on the secretive tax arrangements of more than 300 of the world’s largest multinational corporations and on the secretive world of private banking in Switzerland.
This all-star panel discussed the possible implications of the disclosure, including what these kind of revelations spell for tax and banking havens, as well as consequences of such leaks in terms of whistle blower protection and freedom of information and of the press.
