On Tuesday, October 2, 2012 the Washington Foreign Law Society and GWU Law School hosted a post re-argument discussion with counsel in Kiobel v. Royal Dutch Petroleum and others who have been closely following the case. The discussion addressed the October 1 Supreme Court oral arguments over whether U.S. courts have jurisdiction under the Alien Tort Statute over aliens’ claims of human rights abuses against foreign corporations.
