As the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) goes into effect on May 25, join us for a first look at the new law and a discussion on privacy, cybersecurity, and data protection in international law. The EU GDPR creates new obligations and standards for handling personal information of people located in the EU. It expands the territorial reach beyond the bounds of prior EU data laws and, as such, companies far beyond the EU’s borders will feel the effects of the new regulations.
At this event, expert practitioners will share insights on the GDPR; compliance with its obligations; how companies should handle data breaches and subsequent implications implicating multiple jurisdictions; and how to maintain attorney-client privilege during those times.
